The El Rey vineyard was planted on the very western edge of Santa Barbara County on a hill over looking the La Purisima Mission Lands. This growing area is just perfect for Pinot Noir -a noble grape that thrives in this cool-climate area covered with chilly morning fog and strong afternoon winds.   We named our wine “El Rey” in honor of the Spaniards, the original winemakers in our area, who lived and flourished at the beautiful La Purisima Mission.   Our label is a line drawing of that Mission.

The Central Coast is home to world class Pinot Noir and the El Rey Vineyard follows the area’s rich tradition by producing an expressive Pinot Noir.
